Your Safety

Your safety is important to us. This page provides information about how to stay safe on Jortion and what to do if you encounter issues.

Protecting Your Account

Keep your account secure:

  • Use a strong, unique password
  • Don't share your password with anyone
  • Be cautious of suspicious messages or links
  • Log out from shared devices

Privacy Settings

Control who can see your content:

  • Set your account to private to limit visibility to followers
  • Control who can send you direct messages
  • Review your privacy settings regularly

Blocking and Muting

If someone is bothering you, you can:

  • Block a user to prevent them from sending you messages. Blocking is one-way and does not prevent you from seeing their content.
  • Mute a user to hide their posts and notifications from your feed. Muting is one-way and does not prevent them from seeing your content or interacting with you.

Reporting Content

If you see content that violates our Community Guidelines, report it. You can report posts, replies, profiles, and messages.

Report categories include: spam, harassment, impersonation, inappropriate content, hate speech, violence, misinformation, copyright issues, privacy violations, and other concerns.

We review reports and take appropriate action. Your report is kept confidential.

Harassment and Bullying

If you are being harassed or bullied:

  • Block the user immediately
  • Report the content to us
  • Document the harassment if needed
  • Consider reaching out to support services if you feel unsafe

Impersonation

If someone is impersonating you:

  • Report the impersonating account using the "impersonation" report category
  • Provide evidence that the account is impersonating you
  • Contact us at support@jortion.com for assistance

Private Information

If someone is sharing your private information without consent:

  • Report the content immediately using the "privacy" report category
  • Block the user sharing the information
  • Contact us if the situation is urgent

Self-Harm Support

If you or someone you know is struggling with self-harm or suicidal thoughts, please reach out for help. Jortion is not a crisis service, but there are resources available:

  • Contact local emergency services if there is immediate danger
  • Reach out to a mental health professional
  • Contact a crisis hotline in your country

Account Deletion

If you need to leave the platform:

  • Delete your account to permanently mark it as deleted
  • You can export your data before deletion

Note that some information may remain in our systems where reasonably necessary and legally permitted or required, including for security, fraud prevention, moderation records, legal obligations, dispute resolution, enforcement of platform rules, audit logs, backups, or other legitimate purposes.
